The Golf Club of Texas is 20 miles west of downtown San Antonio, just off US 90 to the north at the Texas Research Parkway.

The golf course traverses a large, natural tract of land with suitable separation between the holes. The layout has parkland and links elements as it moves over broad, undulating fairways with numerous water hazards in addition to a variety of conventional, pot, and waste bunkers. There are four sets of tees overall, with the tips playing to 7,022 yards, 73.1/135, course/slope ratings. It was initially designed by Lee Trevino in 2000 and redesigned by Roy Bechtol in 2014.
