Virginia Beach National is southeast of downtown Norfolk in Virginia Beach, off Princess Anne Road.

The course features a mix of flattish holes along with those over rolling contours and through wooded areas. Water is in play on over half the holes, and the greens and landing areas are littered with sand bunkers and expansive waste areas. From the championship tees, it's 7,104 yards, 74.0/136, course/slope ratings, with four shorter tees, designed by Pete Dye and Curtis Strange.
