The Trails is located north of Dallas in Frisco on the west side of the Tollway between Main and Eldorado in a residential development.

It's a challenging golf course with mounded fairways along numerous ponds, wetlands, and the Cottonwood Branch stream. Sand bunkers of various shapes and sizes are strategically placed at the landing areas and guard the sides of the greens. From the black tees, it plays to 6,959 yards, 74.0/138, course/slope ratings, and three shorter sets of tees, a Jeff Brauer design.
