Quail Valley is northwest of Portland off the Sunset Highway, at Wilson River Highway to the west, and is bordered by farmland.

The layout is wide open off the tee with scattered small trees at the borders as it moves over undulating prairie grass-lined fairways. It features a generous number of sand traps as hazards, in addition to four ponds and numerous wetlands in play. John Zoller designed four sets of tees from 5,416 yards to 6,561 yards, 71.8/126, course/slope ratings at the tips.
