Pendleton is located off I-95 between Richmond and Fredericksburg at exit 110 to the west to the Jefferson Davis Highway.

The course is a parkland layout over the rolling hills of northern Virginia. Its broad, tree-lined fairways are bordered by tall fescue grasses and sand traps lining the fairways and securing the greens. There are five sets of tees overall, from 4,525 yards to 7,093 yards. The course/slope ratings from the tips are 75.5/141, designed by Thomas Walker.
