Old Trail is off I-64 at exit 107 at Rockfish Gap Turnpike, then east a mile midway between Charlottesville and Waynesboro.

The golf course moves over a scenic setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's a blend of mostly open holes, and those along fairways dotted with trees bordered by tall fescue grasses with water in play on a couple of holes and a tolerable amount of sand traps. The course was designed by Jerry Kamis in 2005 and plays to 6,667 yards from the back tees, 72.2/131, course/slope ratings with three sets of tees.
