The Lions (Muny) Golf Course is located 2 miles west of downtown Austin, just north of the Colorado River.
The layout's narrow fairways follow along stands of hardwoods over level topography with numerous ponds in play but a modest amount of sand bunkers defending the typically smallish greens. The golf course was designed by Austin Lions Club member B.F. Rowe, and in 1936, Albert Tillinghast contributed to the course enhancements by redesigning several holes. There are three sets of tees overall, with the tips playing to 5,825 yards, 69.8/123, course/slope ratings, par of 71.
