Kingsmill is a golf resort and upscale residential community south of Williamsburg on the James River. It has three 18-hole layouts, but only the River and Plantation are open to resort guests.

The River Course has a premium layout and is the PGA Tour venue. It's a challenging parkland layout in a pristine setting along the River with forced carries over water hazards and ravines, tight landing areas, an abundance of sand bunkers, and quick, undulating greens. It's 6,831 yards from the championship tees, 73.1/137, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, a Pete Dye design

The Plantation course has many of the same elements as the River course, and while not on the River, water comes into play on eight holes. It's a parkland layout along tree-lined fairways with sand along the fairways guarding the contoured and undulating greens. There are four sets of tees overall, with the tips playing to 6,254 yards, 71.1/126, course/slope ratings, designed by Arnold Palmer.
