Idlewild GC is north of Sturgeon Bay and west of Potawatomi State Park.

It's a parkland-style, Northwoods layout with stands of trees along the fairways' wide borders as it winds around wetlands and lakes. Water is in play on over half the holes, including the island green finish, in addition to a moderate amount of sand bunkers along the fairways and defending the generous greens. From the black tees, the course plays to 6,876 yards, 72.3/129, course/slope ratings, with four shorter tees, designed by Homer Fieldhouse.
