The Woodlands Golf Resort is located on the north side of Houston off I-45 to the west at Woodlands Parkway, within a master-planned community with 36 holes of golf.

The North is the signature layout at the Woodlands and is carved through the deep woods of the community along broad fairway corridors. There are water features in play on over half the holes, well-bunkered fairways and greens, and a variety of turtleback, contoured, and sloping green complexes. There are six sets of tees from 4,896 yards to 7,044 yards off the tips, with the Blue tees playing to 6,201 yards, 69.3/118, course/slope ratings, designed by Joe Lee and Robert Von Hagge and renovated in 2002 by Roy Case.

The West is a straightforward layout journeying along moss-draped, oak tree-lined fairways over level topography with several slight doglegs. There is a generous amount of sand bunkers guarding the landing zones off the tee and the approaches to the greens with water features, including Lake Harrison on ten holes. There are four tees from 5,318 yards to 7,044 yards off the back tees, with the Blue tees playing to 6,628 yards, 71.4/128, course/slope ratings, a Joe Lee/Robert von Hagge design with a redesign by Jay Morrish.
