Woodcrest is 15 miles east of Syracuse, south of Oneida Lake, off Brinkerhoff Road, west of Chettenango, surrounded by farmland and forests.

The slightly hilly layout follows pine and oak tree-lined fairway corridors with less than 15 sand traps, mostly green side, and ponds or streams on half the holes. There are three sets of tees with the Blue tees at 5,875 yards, 69.6/129, course/slope ratings, par of 70, designed by Joe Vanderwerken.
