Whispering Springs is on the east side of Fond Du Lac within a residential development with homes along half the holes.

The golf course has a parkland-style layout with a blend of narrow, fairway corridors through the woods, while the balance is broad with scattered trees at the borders. There are several water hazards in play, and a generous amount of sculptured sand traps are at the landing zones and guarding the greens. There are five sets of tees; the whites play to 6,140 yards, 70.1/125, and course/slope ratings, designed by Bob Lohmann.
