Vaaler Creek is an hour west of Austin and an hour north of San Antonio in Blanco off US 281.

The layout begins modestly but rises with a challenge, especially at the finish. There's a variety of entertaining holes with dog legs, forced carries, elevated tee boxes and greens, water hazards on half the holes, and sand bunkers along the fairways and the narrow approaches to the greens. It was designed by Michael Lowry and JR Newman. The tees range from 4,577 yards to 6,864 yards, and the Blue tees are 6,299 yards, with 70.6/129 course/slope ratings.
