The Hideout is on the south side of Lake Brownwood, a few miles south of the city.

The golf course is an interesting and diverse layout, with each hole isolated and unique over rolling hills along tree-lined fairways with doglegs, multiple water hazards, blind shots, and a modest amount of sand bunkers. It can play to 6,981 yards from the tips, 74.1/139, course/slope ratings; the white tees are 6,091 yards, 70.2/131, designed by Bill Johnston in 2008.
