The Grove is 20 minutes north of Winona, MN, on the east side of Cochrane, WI. It has been hewn into a natural, hilly tract of land on a bluff along the east side of the Mississippi River on the Great River Road Scenic Byway.

The layout is a parkland design over rolling contours, with steam and ponds impacting play on several holes and scattered trees along the fairways. There are a few interesting doglegs and a modest amount of sand traps, but otherwise, it's generally straightforward. Dr. Gordon Emerson designed the layout with four sets of tees, the tips playing to 6,083 yards, 68.5/116, course/slope ratings.
