The Club at Ironwood is just off I-81 at the Woodrow Wilson Highway exit to the west in the Shenandoah Valley.

The golf course is a parkland design along rolling and sloping, tree-lined fairways rarely producing a level lie. There are several ponds in play with sand traps defending all of the greens and several fairway landing zones. It's in a scenic setting, save for a few homes, in the Valley with views of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. The course plays to 6,627 yards with a 129 slope from the black tees, the white tees are 5,958 yards, 68.3/123 course and slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by William Gordon in the 1960s.
