The Bridges is north of Dallas in Gunter off Preston Road, about eight miles from Van Alstyne and 20 miles north of the Dallas North Tollway.

The golf course cruises through a scenic setting over mostly flat, open prairie land along mounded fairways where every hole seems to be into the wind. There are several holes with lay-ups or forced carries, the sand traps are deep and large, and the greens are generous, ranging, and undulating. There are five sets of tees from 5,193 yards to 7,612 yards, and the middle tees play to 6,487 yards, 72.5/128 course/slope ratings, designed by Jeff Brauer and Fred Couples in 2008.
