Suncadia is located off of Exit 80 on Interstate 90, about 70 miles east of Seattle. It's a master-planned resort community with accommodations, two public-access golf courses, The Prospector and Rope Rider, and a private course, Tumble Creek.
Prospector is a mountain-style layout chiseled through the forests with an impressive amount of elevation change and endless views throughout. The routing is well bunkered around the landing areas and greenside, and there are numerous water features in play, both providing a number of risk-reward opportunities. There are four sets of tees overall, and the tips play to 7,112 yards, 73.4/135, course/slope ratings, and it's an Arnold Palmer design.
Rope Rider is over the former Roslyn Mine and is named after the miners who balanced themselves on the roped coal cars that went into the mines. The layout journeys over the existing lay of the tumbling land along broad fairways leading to massive green complexes and features the seventh hole along Tipple Hill, a 120-foot-high pile of coal tailings. There are five sets of tees; the middle tees play to 6,223 yards, 68.9/117, course/slope ratings, and a Jacobsen and Hardy design.
