Star Ranch is east of Round Rock, off TX 130, 40 minutes northeast of downtown Austin.

The course is a solid layout over rolling terrain along broad, mounded fairways with stands of trees at the borders. Water features are in play on almost half the holes, and pot and conventional sand traps defend the fairways and greens. It was designed by Bechtol & Russell Golf Design and Carter Morrish of Jay Morrish & Associates and is 7,017 yards from the tournament tees, 73.5/130 course/slope ratings, and three shorter tee boxes.
