Ponderosa is just west of the Pittsburgh International Airport in Hookstown at the intersection of PA 81/PA 168.

The course is a parkland-style layout along tree-lined, hilly, and sloping fairways, and well-bunkered along the landing zones and greens with water in play on multiple holes. It was designed by Ed Ault and is 6,635 yards from the tips, 71.2/125, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
