Pheasant Trails Golf Course is 50 miles north of Amarillo on the north side of Dumas, which is surrounded by farmland and fields.

The course is a tale of two nines, with the front nine a wide open, links-style design along broad fairways bordered by heavy rough. The backside, however, narrows considerably as it traverses mature hardwood, tree-lined corridors leading to oval or kidney-shaped greens. Overall, it features several slight and dramatic doglegs with a pesky stream in play on six of the initial ten holes. It can play to 6,313 yards, 71.0/121, course/slope ratings off the back tees with two shorter tees.
