Palouse Ridge is Washington State University's home course. It is located near the airport on the northeast side of campus.
The golf course is routed over and around the hills and dales in the Palouse on a massive 315-acre tract of land with only 100 acres of irrigated turf. Elevated tees provide views of miles of the vast area's wheat fields, farms, and ranches. 800,000 cubic yards of dirt was disturbed to create the course, and it shows as it feels somewhat unnatural at times, conflicting with the natural lay of the land. It can be visually intimidating with fescue-lined small landing zones and slight greens built on plateaus with sand bunkers scattered about the fairways and greens. The course measures 7,308 from the tips, 75.9/140, course/slope with four shorter tees, and was designed by John Harbottle.
