Olde Mill is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south of Laurel Fork in southwestern Virginia. It is a scenic drive to the course if you don't mind the "slow" drive up or down the Parkway.

The course is a hilly parkland layout with mostly wide and forgiving landing zones lined by trees. It's well bunkered with over 70 sand traps, water hazards in play on a few holes, and the greens tend to be elevated or crowned. There are four sets of tees from 4,798 yards to 7,060 yards at the tips; the white tees play to 6,308 yards, 72.1/136, course/slope ratings, originally designed by Ellis Maples with redesign work by Dan Maples,
