Ocean Shores is just east of the Pacific within a residential development, 30 minutes west of Aberdeen.

There are two completely different types of golf courses here, with the front nine winding along narrow, tree-lined fairways through a residential neighborhood. At the same time, the backside is generally a more open, links-like layout with tall native grasses bordering the fairways and the constant wind affecting play. It's only 6,252, par 71, 69.5/117, course/slope ratings from the back tees with two shorter tees, design work by Dan Hixon. The course opened in 1961 and grew in stages to a full 18-hole championship course. At one time, it was owned by Pat Boone, who hosted the Celebrity Golf Classic here and later a regular LPGA Tour stop.
