The Lewistown Country Club is 45 minutes south of State College on the south side of Lewistown off US 22. It is in a scenic setting bordering the Juniata River and surrounded by mountains.

The golf course is a parkland design that moves along slightly rolling, tree-lined fairways with multiple water hazards and a generous amount of sand bunkers at the landing areas and guarding the greens. Donald Ross designed the initial nine holes here in the 1940s, and Ault Clark added the second nine in 1974. It plays to 6,524 yards from the White tees, with course/slope ratings of 72.0/129.
