Lakewoods is a four-season resort north of Hayward and 8 miles east of Cable.

The resort is on Lake Namakagon in the Chequamegon National Forest and is typical of the Northwoods layout with narrow, tree-lined, and hilly fairways along unique corridors. There are numerous slight doglegs, several water hazards, and sand traps defending many of the greens. There are three sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,066 yards, 70.9/137, and course/slope ratings, designed by Joel Goldstrand in the mid 1990s.
