Kinderton CC is two hours south of Richmond, on the south side of Kerr Lake near Buggs Island, just over the US 15 bridge in Clarksville.

The golf course is in a scenic setting carved through a clearing in the surrounding forest over rolling terrain with a mix of open and narrow, tree-lined fairways. It has its share of blind shots, deep sand traps greenside, narrow landing zones and approaches, and Distillery Branch and several ponds interrupting several holes. The layout's design is a classic by Donald Ross with a redesign by Dick Wilson, and from the tips plays to 6,449 yards, 70.4/125, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
