Honky Tonk National is 1 1/2 hours east of Nashville near Sparta, south of Cookeville in the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area on Center Hill Lake.

The golf course is in a scenic, isolated setting without homes or development along the holes. It has a little of everything, with elevation change, fairway mounding, water hazards, and sand traps as it moves along mostly tree-lined fairways. It can play to 6,850 yards from the tips, 73.3/131 course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, and was designed by Peter Jacobson, Jim Hardy, and Jerry Lemons.
