Hobbs Hole is an hour northeast of Richmond in the Northern Neck, in Tappahannock. It is just behind the shopping centers on US 17, in a small residential development bordered by forests and fields.

The course layout is varied, with trees lining some fairways while others are wide open and links-style. There are streams, ponds, and lakes in play, with a generous amount of sand bunkers guarding the fairways and greens. The course was designed by Jeff Timmons, and from the tips, plays to 6,607 yards, 69.7/116, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees.
