Hay Creek Golf Club is 45 minutes south of Gillette in the small community of Wright, located in the Thunder Basin National Grasslands in northeastern Wyoming.

The layout is nine holes wide open to the elements, with a links-style design over slightly rolling hills. It's very roomy, and while there's the occasional water hazard and sand trap, the greens are ample in size and open in the front. From the back tees, it's 3,527 yards. For 18 holes, it plays to 7,054 from the tips or as short as 5,466 yards. The white tees are 6,320 yards, 68.3/110, course/slope ratings.
