Red Rock is on the southwest side of Rapid City, off US 16 to the west, within a residential development

The layout traverses a parkland setting with stands of trees along the fairways over rolling terrain, with each hole isolated and unique. The fairways are frequently mounded and undulating, producing a variety of odd lies on approach shots to the well-protected greens surrounded by collection areas, pot, and conventional sand bunkers. It was designed by Ron Faris in 2003 and plays to 7,114 yards from the back tees, 73.0/142, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
