Glacier Woods Golf Club is on the northeast side of Iola on Water Street. It is carved through the woods on Iola Lake and is without homes or development.

The course has impressive elevation change throughout, with elevated tees and greens in a scenic, park-like setting. It provides a mix of broad and constricted, tree-lined fairways with numerous doglegs bordered by boulders, sand bunkers, and water hazards over rolling terrain. From the tips, it's 6,520 yards, 71.6/130 course/slope ratings, and three shorter sets of tees, designed by Lawrence Packard.
