Desert Pines is just off I-10 at exit 257 in Fort Stockton, wrapped around the southeast runway of the Fort Stockton Airport.

The course has a straightforward layout over level terrain traversing fairways, which is defined by mesquite and oak trees. It's dotted with water hazards, but a sparing use of sand bunkers generally defending the modest, oval greens. It can play to 6,544 yards, 70.8/114, course/slope ratings off the back tees with two shorter tees.
