Colovista is in the Lost Pines area of Bastrop, 30 minutes east of Austin, off Rt 71/95 to the south.

The front nine holes are an open-links-style layout. At the same time, the backside is built into the bluffs overlooking the Colorado River, featuring the par 3 15th, a 200-foot elevation drop from tee to green offering wide-angle views of the Colorado River Valley. There are five sets of tees with the white tees at 6,112 yards, 69.8/118, course/slope ratings, designed by Les Appelt.
