Brown Deer is 12 miles north of downtown Milwaukee, off I-43 at Good Hope Road to the west.

The golf course is a fairly straightforward parkland layout with fairways bordered by mature trees along slight doglegs, sand bunkers in the fairways and around the greens, and a stream traversing half the layout. There's three sets of tees, the middle tees play to 6,306 yards, 70.6/129, course/slope ratings. It's a solid classic designed in 1929 by George Hansen, with later design work by Andy North and Roger Packard. It has been the venue for the annual PGA Event in Milwaukee and is the shortest course on Tour.
