Blackwolf Run is part of the American Club owned by Kohler. There are two Pete Dye designs, River and Meadow located inland from Lake Michigan laid in over the existing lay of the land.

The River Course is target golf along tree-lined fairways with narrow landing areas, water hazards on 14 holes, and the characteristic Dye bunkers. It's a classic risk/reward layout that provides compelling alternatives to the greens, with the more aggressive choice creating greater potential for a lower or higher score. It can play to 7,404 yards, 74.4/148 course/slope ratings from the tips, with four shorter tees.

Meadow Valleys is a resort layout through meadows and over ravines with the fairways bordered by tall fescue. It's well bunkered along the fairways and guarding the green and a variety of water hazards in play. From the back tees it's 7,165 yards, 74.6/144, course/slope ratings with a total of five sets of tees.

There's also a 10-hole, par 3 layout appropriately named "The Baths," along with a 2-acre putting course, good for filling out the day after playing one of the championship layouts.
