Alta Lake is a small resort with 30 rooms and an 18-hole golf course that runs over and through desert terrain.

The layout is a mix of open, links-style holes bordering the desert, while others are straightforward, with trees defining the fairway corridors. It's over a scenic setting surrounded by mountains on the east side of the Cascades overlooking the Chelan River Valley. There are several water hazards potentially in play, but the course's main defense is the modest, multi-tiered, quick greens. It was designed by the owner, Don Barty, playing to 6,678 yards from the tips, 72.5/124, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
